Have you looked in your Windows sound enhancements settings?

  • KamiKitsune - 03/22/2025

    I don't think I have that.
I was messing with the balance because a pear of headphones I was using sounded weard. now the laptop speakers sounds goofy.

If you have dedicated volume keys, set l and r to 0, then use the keys to turn the volume back up.

@clickersound, that didn't work. As soon as I rased the volume, it set both l and r to 100

Yeah it's definitely enhancements. win+r, mmsys.cpl, playback devices then select your headset or speakers or whatever it is that you use. press properties, then it'll bring you to a menu. Get to the enhancements tab and you can disable them all from there.

so I don't have an enhancement tab, I do however have this.
Enable audio enhancements check box not checked

when i look in my audio settings, I have another tab here called dolby atmos, my is set to off, maybe you can try this too. Or you can try to remove dolby atmos e. g. uninstall the dolby atmos at all. Can you tell us what is your computer manufacturer e. g. Lenovo or something else so i can investigate this?
