Just hit it diagonal against the wall over and over. Start close and slowly move out, because it'll overshoot you. It's not that hard. You don't even need to catch.

Jumping helps. It's basically just a rhythm game.

Yeah, this was my first or second trial. I need to practice that a bit I think.

Um, yeah, probably easier said than done. The ball bounces more from left to right than anything, and even with good reflexes you're put to the beginning because the physics is a game of randomness.
