So from time to time I love to mess with eleven labs's text to sound. I forgot what I prompted it with, but I called it, "the hell was in there.mp3" . It sounds to me like someone was cleaning out something, and found a random rodant or something in the metal thing they were opening. Let me know what you think!

    I didn't even know that this was a thing. Do we know if text to sound is actually doing sound generation or using sounds from libraries?

      oh yeah it's been around for some years now. It's like suno for sounds. It's no where near perfect, and it's like the only place I know which does it, which makes me pissed because damn it I want an offline version I can train with my terrabyte of sounds, but yes, this is real. It doesn't always sound good, it still sounds shitty and artifacty at times unfortunately.

        Um there are local models lol. Look at stable audio open and stable audio 3 mini. They also have a larger model you can run with a subscription which is very reasonable and you can upload files to it and have it make new generations that sound like that file. There's also adobe firefly which you can use your voice with to control the rhythm and pacing of the sound. Fuck 11 labs and their overpriced bullshit bro. I hate them with a passion.
