Thanks @SweetDaddyRizz. As for @TheByteBender, yes, I do need to get a windscreen. I believe there are some on Amazon I can get. I try not to clip as much, that's why I listen with headphones as I'm recording.

Yeah despite the fact I can hear myself through headphones I can still clip sometimes.

Get a windscreen please. Your recorder that you told me you were using for things a few months ago was the Zoom H1E. That has an accessory pack with a pop filter in it. Go buy it.

Alternatively, put a limiter over your microphone, ye gods, and turn it to mono.

Remember when Daney Laney was Recommending you to get the windscreen that his zoom h1e came with? Maybe you'll like it. It's not that much money at all. Just amazon Zoom h1e windscreen, or quit being lazy and buy the h2e like Daney Laney should do, because that one doesn't natively clip as much if you're names brycy wycy and you still are a little bit too close to the mic.
