Description:

My first big feature has landed! And although I know this will be hard for some of you to believe (lol), the downtime that just happened wasn't actually caused by my changes! 😁

You can now reply to comments directly! Comments are now displayed in a nested structure to allow for this.

This was my first big quality of life feature

The only missing feature I know of atm is that posting a reply doesn't (yet) notify the author of the comment you're replying to, but I aim to get this fixed as soon as I can.

Otherwise, if you find any bugs, have any suggestions, or would like to discuss more features you'd like to see, feel free to comment below.

Happy commenting!

    Cool stuff

  • SweetDaddyRizz - 11/16/2025

    Very nicely done, king.

  • Sir Howard - 11/16/2025

I like it! But, right now it's a bit confusing. Could you make it possible to expand and collapse threads?

    • RealisticAudioDesign - 11/16/2025

      I agree. That's escential

    • bscross32 - 11/16/2025

Yeah rn its hard to grok ... heh, see what I did there... where I am in the thread, like how many levels deep etc.

  • Thatotakudude - 11/16/2025

I wonder if you can make the replies an expandable option so if people do not want to necessarily see the replies, they can simply not klick the view replies option or something like that. Just a suggestion, though. <3

can we make reply a clickable thing so that we can hit shift b to still go up to the play button?

    • TheFake VIP - 11/17/2025

I don't think that's a great idea, it's supposed to be a button. If you want to get back to the audio player, just go back a heading level 1, then tab forwards.

  • Jonathan859 - 11/17/2025

Oh, fun. out of list out of list out of list out of grouping clickable Add a comment:

  • Jonathan859 - 11/17/2025

Yeah it would be good to make it colapsable and stuff. And maybe indicate who it is responding too. As it get's confusing when Person a responds to person B and then Person C to Person B but person D to B again. Like you get what I mean, at some point you don't know who is responding to whose exact comment.

    • TheFake VIP - 11/18/2025

Okay so I think the first thing I'll do is collapse all replies by default. I will think some more about how comments can be tied to the one they're replying to better (I want to come up with something unintrusive but useful).
Keyboard shortcuts will likely still happen, but will come later.

  • TheFake VIP - 11/17/2025

    Thanks all for the feedback!
What would you all think of having keyboard navigation so you can navigate the three of comments easier? Don't get me wrong, I'm fully behind the idea of collapsing comment threads, in fact that would be easier to implement than keybaord navigation. However, making both work at the same time is possible, but will be quite difficult.
I guess I'm asking which of them I should prioritise. With the keyboard controls I wAs thinking up / down to navigate between comments at the same level, left / right to enter and exit levels, r to reply, backspace or delete to delete, etc.
Definitely happy to try to do both as well, although if we do collapsable threads then some of the keyboard shortcuts may need to change to accommodate that.
It's annoying because for me on Linux, with Orca, the level of each list is announced really nicely, but I've realised since that other screen readers are nowhere near as nice when it comes to announcing where you are.

    • albluc24 - 11/17/2025

keyboard controls would be fire! Just as long as you can go in nav mode and navigate around the text of the focused comment and there is a dead simple imlpementation of collapsable buttons for mobile I think it would be the best way.

    • bscross32 - 11/17/2025

I think that'd be fine, but it wouldn't help much when viewing from a phone, though maybe mobile screen readers handle this better?

      • TheFake VIP - 11/18/2025

Haven't tried Android yet, but VO on iOS really doesn't, and to be honest it's not a great experience rn. It doesn't announce the lists at all by default, much less the custom labels I gave them. So yeh this system will be improved.

        • albluc24 - 11/19/2025

          Maybe a treeview?

  • garo - 11/17/2025

    Sub headings?

    • bscross32 - 11/17/2025

      You'd run out of them.

    • TheFake VIP - 11/18/2025

I was originally going to do subheadings, but doing so is highly discouraged by web accessibility guidelines, and not all browsers and screen readers understand heading levels above 6.

  • kalahami - 11/17/2025

    good stuff. Thanks
