Description:

This is a recording of the online feed from the new 106.3 Fizz-FM radio station in LA. All content played on this station is AI generated. The World is done. It's all downhill from here, officially.

A few minutes in, you'll hear a fade out and a transition to another song. The first few minutes were recorded using my computer's output and the majority of it was recorded directly from the stream's live feed link using ffmpeg. If you hear some Tweesecake noises during the first few minutes, this is why.

To promote the relaunch of the Slice soda brand, a new pop-up format featuring AI generated music about the beverage has launched on 106.3 K292HC Los Angeles fed by 93.9 KLLI-HD2.
The 4 watt translator covers parts of Los Angeles centered over the Koreatown and Mid-Wilshire portions of the city. It had been rebroadcasting Korean “Radio Seoul” 1650 KFOX.

Do it to this one.

I, hate this with all of me. I really really do. If it were good, Maybe I would, but its so bad.

Andrew T - 06/04/2025

It's giving IFN vibes.

Andrew T - 06/04/2025

And what the fuck is Slice?

Andrew T - 06/04/2025

Like I know it's a sota brand, but this AI promotion music is performing the exact opposite of the desired effect. Blek.

I really couldn't handle more than a minute 10 seconds of this, and I skipped through most of the first song. They even have the people calling in be AI

Prime Minister Lord Zach - 06/04/2025

I guess Slice is some kind of soda?

TheDude - 06/05/2025

If you had to make AI radio at least make it fucking interesting. I only really take advantage of AI music when I can make it say unsensored things or break it by putting my audio skits in it. This AI shit is hollow, no personality. No face for millions of fans to cream over. But then again, they could make an AI celeb and bam goes the music industry. I mean Hatsune miku was kinda like that, although I'd rather hear that synthetic wifu sing all day then hear this Corporate dribble. Even with Hatsune you still had to write and compose the lyrics and notes, and you actually had to work to make good music. God I sware, as the years go by, it get's easier and easier to creat music. I hope slice goes out of business this sounds like fucking International Friends network, but in america. I bet IFN is happy about this. My biggest gripe is however not supremely with AI music, it's the gutter trash lyrics they have gpt or what ever bullshit AI write the lyrics. it's disgustingly flavorless, Like I said, corporate. No soul, cringe. But, if you took AI music and wrote some fucked up lyrics, or just made something really comedic out of it singers who would never sing stuff like it in real life, it would be hilarious. Wow what a rant. I should probably stop while I'm at 1294 characters.

GigaSound - 06/05/2025

Hell now that I think about it, a lot of these AI genorated lyrics wouldn't catch fans even if a real person sung them. This is advertisement now? Bet that price was cheep, given that no one listens to the radeo anymore. So have fun slice, no popular music sung by people is advertisement for a product, I mean if it's a meem sure. I highly doubt anyone will enjoy listening to advertisement radio. You know the scarry part? You only need one person to make all of these AI tracks. Now if you'll excuse me I need to stop listening to this brain rot. I've had it audio ducked while I wrote both rants, and now I'm at, elapsed time: 26:13! Wo wtf! Ok I'm probably one of the few people who got this far, hats off to me I guess. Anyway as soon as I'm done I'm stopping this.

There's a video I watched from a fantasy writer I watch. It's like a 2 minute rant on why these people are not artists. They aren't learning a craft. They're stealing from people who have and passing it off as their own without learning why it is the way it is and making all the mistakes that come with it.

And this is what we're burning the world for. The equivalent of auditory junkfood if junkfood was made out of plastic. Can't believe we're doing mother nature dirty like this. And this is where I'm gonna stop myself because otherwise I'd say some really depressing shit.

keoku - 06/05/2025

The fact that they have to put this on HD Radio suggests two things. First, almost no one uses—or even knows what—HD Radio is. I do, because I’m a nerd. And second, they know this is trash, and maybe someone with a shred of common decency was like, “Hey guys, maybe—maybe—just maybe we shouldn’t pollute the radio waves with this unsolicited garbage.”
I can guarantee you right now that if they expanded this to a blank FM standard radio station spanning the greater Los Angeles area and got the attention of actual locals, I wouldn't be surprised if they received death threats from the public practically begging them to turn it off. I’d be one of the folks begging relentlessly to shut that garbage down and stop polluting the airwaves.
I could go on and on. The world as we know it—us humans—we’ve sunk so low. I’m disappointed in all of us. Including myself.

GigaSound - 06/05/2025

I could, but I have enough depression to deal with, I'm not gonna add that in. Keep looking to any bright side you can grasp folks, it's too easy to lose it in the void of depression.

SweetDaddyRizz - 06/05/2025

No no no... It's on HD radio, but it's also on regular FM as well. 106.3 is fed by 93.9 KLLI-HD2. So they listen to the HD station and rebroadcast it on standard FM. So not only is it AI, but you can also hear all of the digital artifacts on the analog signal.
